How to Obtain a visa to study in Belgium. You must obtain a visa to return and study in Belgium if you are a national of a country that is not a member of the European Union.

Procedure for obtaining a student visa to study in Belgium

You must contact the Belgian embassy or consulate in your country or a neighboring country to determine if the visa is necessary. For a stay of more than three months, you must obtain a type D visa valid as a residence permit.

You must apply in person for your visa D (residence permit in Belgium) from the Belgian consulate responsible for the country where you normally reside or in a neighboring country.

Documents to attach to your visa application to study in Belgium

Your student visa application file must contain:

1- a visa application form to be withdrawn from the Belgian embassy or consulate which must be correctly completed and signed;
2- a passport whose validity period is greater than 12 months.
3- proof that you have sufficient means of subsistence:

A student must have sufficient financial means to cover:

1- his expenses of stay,
2- his study fees,
3- his health care costs, and
4- his repatriation costs.
